Bradley Zimmerman and Kevin Lee obtained a $500,000 settlement on behalf of a young man who was forced to undergo left trans metatarsal foot amputation after extensive vascular damage to his foot. This damage could have been avoided, had his treating podiatrist made the necessary requests for a consultation with a vascular surgeon.

Our client presented with an unhealing foot ulcer over the course of several months with worsening gangrene and tissue necrosis. These symptoms indicated that he was having a vascular blockage in his lower left leg, which a vascular surgeon would have found and treated promptly.

Unfortunately, the treating podiatrist failed to recognize the implication of these symptoms and never called for a vascular surgeon to examine the patient. Therefore, by the time the patient did see a vascular surgeon months later, his foot was unsalvageable and part of his foot, including half of his toes, needed to be amputated. To this day, he continues to deal with complications from the amputation.
