The Child Sexual Abuse Claims The Hospital Knew About For Years

On May 23, 2019, the University, through its counsel, released a shocking report on its investigation into Dr. Archibald's sexual abuse of his former patients.

The report confirms that several hundred of Dr. Archibald's former patients responded to the University's request to share their interactions with Dr. Archibald, hinting at the widespread pattern of sexual abuse and misconduct.

What is also disturbing is the tone of the news report as it minimizes the role that the University played in the scheme. For example, the report shows that there were prior complaints filed against Dr. Archibald dating back to the 1960s, of which the Physician-in-Chief among other personnel of the Hospital were made aware.

"Our investigation has similarly uncovered that there were negligent lapses by the University. For instance, the University failed to supervise and monitor Archibald's purported "research" activities that transparently deviated from widely accepted guidelines and standards of biomedical research on children. Diagnoses were patently false, and examination and treatment techniques were devoid of medical therapeutic purpose. However, the report avoids addressing how this could be allowed to go on at this esteemed University and why it did not react to prior complaints to protect the safety of vulnerable children-patients from sexual abuse!"
